Show Notes

Our message to share with you today is that there is a middle path that can expand your capacity to tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and can improve your overall mental-emotional health.

This practice works through a process of consciously acknowledging your difficult, painful feelings, being present with them, and moving toward making peace with them.

This can be used with any difficult or painful emotional state and involves several levels of awareness and action.

Here are 5 ways that you can immerse yourself in sound to raise your vibration.

  1. Gongs and Bells- Buddhists use different instruments to create healing practices. The light chime of bells or heavy ringing of a gong reverberates into the atmosphere, setting the tone for stillness, quiet reflection and giving space. To use for yourself, bang the gong or bell one, two or three times at the beginning of your sound healing. Once you finish, repeat the sound as a way to close the session.
  2. Singing Bowls-The Tibetan culture of the Himalayas has a reputation for their deep spiritual practices and they are famous for their singing bowls to induce relaxation and peace. A study published in the Journal of Evidence Based Alternative Medicine found that singing bowl sounds reduces stress, anger and depression while promoting overall feelings of peace. To use a singing bowl, you create the sound by firmly pressing a mallet against the bowl’s outside rim. This creates a calming sound that gently soothes away any disturbances in the body.
  3. Saying Mantras-Mantra meditation uses the repetition of sacred sound as a way to raise your vibrational energy in the mind and body. All types of spiritual practices around the world use this type of meditation including Hinduism, Buddism, Sikism as well as Christianity and islam. Set aside a few minutes and choose a mantra that bests suits you. Then sit quietly and repeat the mantra either out loud or silently in your mind. If your mind wanders, simply bring your awareness back to the mantra.
  4. Sound Baths-During a sound bath you are bathed in healing sounds but it’s not about the music. It’s about how the sounds can help you balance energy. During a sound bath, you don’t want to hook into a melody or repeat things because you don’t want the brain to recognize a repeated beat. You want people to release and you want the brain to let go. You can actually create your own sound bath experience at home. Invite a friend or two to join. You can combine different healing sounds and instruments, like gongs, singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks as well as your voice. Just close your eyes and let the healing take place.
  5. Sounds of Nature-sometimes the key to healing is a simple as stepping outside of
